A Day in Gribskov’s Least Impressive Corner (But Don’t Tell the Photos)

You know it’s going to be a pretty good day at the office when you see your first composition before you even leave the parking lot. Today was an example of that, and yes, although the sunny weather only lasted for the first few images, I can’t complain about today’s photo yield in what is one of the few areas of Gribskov I hadn’t explored before.

When that is said, I probably won’t return to this part of the forest anytime soon. Nothing truly stood out compared to so many other places. The only lake and wetland area was fenced in, with no gates (but with a small herd of horses who came over to say hello). Tractor tracks and lots of tree stubs sticking out of the ground told me that industrial forestry was more important here than preserving beautiful nature. So, as I walked along compositions became fewer and farther between, and I decided to call it quits after only a couple of hours.
