To see northern lights and take pictures of northern lights are not the same thing. I can now I say I have taken a picture of northern lights, but I cannot say I have seen them. What you see here in this image was not visible to the naked eye. It was not even visible in my original RAW file. But I knew the northern lights were there, because a boy I met outside was shooting them with his cell phone where they appeared quite clearly. And lo and behold, with some extensive post-proessing I was able to reveal them in this image. Call it cheating or unethical. I call it my first northern lights photo.
